Fundraising Coordinator

Interested in fundraising, have excellent administrative skills and a desire to learn? Put your skills to work at ASHRAE, an international nonprofit engineering society! We have an immediate opening for a Coordinator on the fundraising team. The position supports the annual Research Campaign, ASHRAE Foundation and Major Gifts/Corporate Fundraising programs. Manager of Building Decarbonization

ASHRAE has an immediate opening for a Manager of Building Decarbonization. This manager will support the activities of ASHRAE’s new Center of Excellence for Building Decarbonization. This is a new position at ASHRAE which will have the opportunity to help shape the society’s decarbonization strategies. The position reports to the Director of Technology and is ideally based at ASHRAE Global Headquarters in the metro Atlanta area. A remote position could be considered if the candidate is willing to travel as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. As Staff Liaison support the activities of the Center of Excellence for Building Decarbonization.
  2. Coordinate contract teams for cross departmental projects related to the activities of the Center of Excellence for Building Decarbonization.
  3. As Staff Liaison support the activities of the MEP2040.
  4. Negotiate contract, agreements, and MOUs for collaborative projects.
  5. Participate in stakeholder coalitions and meetings and building relationships at the staff level with other organizations, e.g., NYSERDA, EPA, WRI, and others.
  6. Coordinate with the Washington office on advocacy efforts.
  7. Some travel may be required.

Education and Job-Related Experience

A bachelor’s degree or similar technical degree is required. Successful applicants will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of related NGO experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to proactively collaborate with team members inside and outside ASHRAE.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, strong organizational skills, ability to work effectively with others, be self-motivated, manage long- and short-term deadlines, and strategically problem-solve.
  • Background and interest in environmental sustainability, climate change, and building decarbonization are highly desired.

Technical Services Engineer

ASHRAE, a global society advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment, is seeking a Technical Services Engineer. Are you looking to develop expertise and serve as a resource providing technical guidance to questions on HVAC&R?  Do you enjoy working with volunteers?  Are you outgoing and diplomatic? 

ASHRAE seeks a candidate with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or energy- or building- related engineering with at least 2 to 4 years’ experience.  Responsibilities include developing an expertise on ASHRAE publications to answer technical inquires received from members, staff, and the public, assisting ASHRAE committees in drafting agendas, minutes, and reports, and assisting in the oversight of our headquarters building operations.  Individuals with experience or knowledge in HVAC&R are desired.  Effective communication skills, good judgment and diplomacy are essential as this position interacts with members of the public, ASHRAE members, and internal staff.  This position requires domestic travel approximately two to three times per year.  A bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar technical degree is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Answer written and phone technical inquiries from ASHRAE members, staff, and the public related to ASHRAE and ASHRAE publications and resources.
  2. Serving as the staff liaison and recording secretary for the following ASHRAE committees: Environmental Health Committee, Refrigeration Technology Committee for Process and Comfort Cooling, Document Review Subcommittee, and Position Document Committees
  3. Administer special projects as assigned.
  4. Assist in the oversight of building operations

 Education and Job-Related Experience

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required. Successful applicants will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or energy or building related engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Two to four years’ experience and knowledge of HVAC&R is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills that include comprehending and explaining complex technical information quickly.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Diplomacy especially in interacting with the public.
  • Enjoy travelling domestically two to three times per year.

Training Coordinator

ASHRAE, a global non-profit engineering society, seeks a full-time Training Coordinator with experience in planning, scheduling, and coordinating single and multi-day training events.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills who can simultaneously coordinate multiple training projects. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are a must, as the person in this position will regularly collaborate with instructors, registrants, internal staff, society members, external clients, and vendors. A bachelor’s degree in a communications, education, or related field is required along with expertise in MS Office and exceptional attention to detail. Preference will be given to outgoing candidates with non-profit experience and a displayed motivation to succeed.
