Understanding ASHRAE's Proposed High-Performance, Green Building Standard 189.1P

Course Description

This course provides an overview of the requirements of ASHRAE’s Proposed High-Performance, Green Building Standard 189.1P. Upon completion of this course, participants will understand the basic requirements set in Standard 189.1P; understand the background that led to the development of these requirements; and become familiar with how to apply the requirements in the Standard to typical building projects.

 

Instructor

Tom Lawrence, P.E. Tom Lawrence, P.E. and LEED-AP, is a Public Service Associate with the University of Georgia, and has over 25 years of professional experience in engineering and environmentally related fields. Before going back for his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue, he spent approximately 20 of those years in progressively more responsible engineering and management positions in industry and consulting. Tom is the chair of ASHRAE Technical Committee 2.8, Building Environmental Impact and Sustainability, and is a member of the committee writing an ASHRAE standard on high-performance green building (Standard 189.1).
