Course Description

This course addresses the critical role an insulation system plays in equipment and system performance, as well as its role in energy conservation, fuel cost savings and environmental emission reductions.  Attendees learn system design conditions, gain a better understanding of the different types of insulation materials, their temperature ranges and their properties, and are able to select appropriate insulation materials (including attachment materials, insulation materials, jackets and coverings, systems, finishing materials and accessories). Attendees gain a better understanding of the criteria needed for selecting the "right insulation system for the job," increase their skill in communicating the requirements in a specification, and gain experience at determining the right insulation thickness for long-term performance.
