LA VILLE DE QUEBEC, QC, Canada—The Quebec Chapter organized a special event on Dec. 4, 2006, to celebrate the chapter’s 50th anniversary. The Chapter’s history was the theme for the meeting. Twenty-eight past-presidents were present, including M. Louis-Philippe Truchon (94 years old) and M. Azarias Servant (78 years old), two of the Members who founded the chapter in 1956. The main speaker was ASHRAE President Terry Townsend, P.E., who talked about the importance of considering sustainability in engineers’ everyday decisions. Townsend presented the 50-year anniversary certificate to Robin Labbé, Ville de Québec Chapter president. Also, Townsend visited the College de Limoilou, a technical school with an active ASHRAE student branch. Charles-André Munger, chapter historian, and his committee organized the event, which was attended by more than 165 members and guests.
