ASHRAE Updates Three Standards

New standards related to energy performance, residential energy and refrigerants are available from ASHRAE.

• ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 105-2007, Standard Methods of Measuring, Expressing and Comparing Building Energy Performance, provides a common basis for reporting building energy use and comparison of energy performance The cost of the standard is $30 for ASHRAE members.
• Expanded requirements for safety relief protection are contained in ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 15-2007, Safety Standard for Refrigeration Systems, which establishes procedures for operating equipment and systems to assure the safety of building occupants and system technicians. It contains expanded requirements for safety relief protection piped internally to systems. The cost of Standard 15-2007 is $32 for ASHRAE members.
• ASHRAE’s new 2007 residential energy efficiency standard contains several improvements made based on public input. ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 90.2-2007, Energy-Efficient Design of Low-Rise Residential Buildings, features a simplified format and other improvements. The cost of ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 90.2-2007 is $76 for ASHRAE members.
