ASHRAE Insights

By Arden Davis, Past President, Idaho Chapter
BOISE, Idaho—Xenon Long, Idaho Chapter President, opened the year with his new gavel, “Tinker Bell’s Wand,” as “Davel the Gavel” (as previously reported) was either kidnapped or ran away with the beer cart girl at the June golf tournament.

Long presented numerous awards to chapter members.  A 50-year Life Member award was presented to Don Wisdom, who was one of the chapter’s founding fathers.  Chapter Service Awards were given to Pat House of Felt-House Engineers who chaired the 2000 CRC and several other chapter activities and committees and to former Refrigeration RVC Adrian Fannin of FM, Inc. Long also presented certificates to Arden Davis for Regional Award of Merit, Sustainability Activities Award and the Best Chapter President Award for Region IX.

Unfortunately, the technical program speaker fell off his motorcycle and had to cancel, so “The History of HVAC” from the ASHRAE library was shown.

Long closed the meeting by awarding a door prize mug, but, unfortunately, “Tinker Bell’s Wand” disappeared during the award presentations.

If anyone sees Davel or Tinker Bell’s Wand, please send them back to the Idaho Chapter or contact Xenon Long at 208-888-1727 and let him know where to find them. Two six packs or a bottle of good Idaho wine are offered as a reward for Davel’s safe return.
