SQL Report Developer

ASHRAE seeks a full time SQL Report Developer who is very comfortable working with SQL. Position requires entry level to moderate knowledge of SQL Server and programming experience. The ability to learn new systems/concepts and apply problem solving skills is most important. You will gain hands-on experience working with other SQL Developers as part of a small team.  Position entails working with staff and colleagues in order to analyze, enhance, design, and support applications that interface with our SQL Server database. 

Requirements:

  • 1 year minimum experience writing SQL
  • Proficiency using SSRS
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with C#, SSIS a plus

The duties of this job include:

  • Write reports using SSRS.
  • Perform complex SQL queries.
  • Write stored procedures and functions.
  • Document processes, programs and reports.
  • Communicate with staff to understand requirements of a project.
  • Provide solutions to challenging business rules/requirements.

Circulation Development & Subscriptions Coordinator

ASHRAE seeks a circulation development coordinator who can analyze and correct subscription processes for achieving targets. The position encourages ownership of results, including:

  • Acquiring and maintaining subscribers for controlled print & digital circulation to meet circulation criteria to achieve advertising objectives.
  • Preparing circulation data and reports for circulation audits.
  • Collecting data for circulation distribution to qualified circulation and industry shows.
  • Assist as needed with advertising production for print and online products.

Job Requirements:
This position requires a college degree in business or publishing-related field and a minimum two-years’ experience working with an association, academic institution or publishing company. Circulation management knowledge a plus. Advanced skills in Excel, business math, and MS Office required. Customer service skills needed include high attention to detail, researching and finding solutions to problems, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Support Coordinator, Career Development

ASHRAE is looking for a support professional to assist association members and other customers to plan their career paths using tools and resources offered by the association.  The successful candidate will have knowledge of computer based learning services, professional credentialing and job boards, and most importantly the ability to understand registrant problems and concerns and to offer creative solutions. 

As a member of a support team collaborating with professionals in web-based learning and certification, shared performance indicators are growth of eLearning registrations, growth in number of persons holding an ASHRAE credential, and growth in job board registrations.  Contributions by this team member require the ability to clearly communicate through email, possess strong telephone skills, accurate data input, careful maintenance of records within the association management database, coordination of exam logistics, communication of exam results, and analysis of statistics, and effective collaboration of collateral content creation with ASHRAE certification, eLearning, and education departments.

Associate Editor, News

ASHRAE is looking for a writer-editor to produce high quality articles about the HVAC&R and sustainable building industries for its websites, digital newsletters and print magazines. The successful candidate will be an experienced writer for technical publications in both print and digital platforms. The successful applicant will keep current and report on industry news and trends. The candidate must be able to write for HVAC&R engineering and high-performing building industry readerships. In addition, the candidate should have experience in editing and copy editing. Some travel to industry events may be required.
Successful applicants should have:

  • Proven working experience as a journalist or reporter (5+ years)
  • Portfolio of published articles
  • Ability to follow strict deadlines and fact-check information
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office, InDesign, digital editing, web search, databases)
  • Excellent communication and networking skills along with an aptitude for extracting information
  • Good observation and deduction skills
  • Bachelor degree in journalism or relevant field

Technical Editor

ASHRAE seeks a technical editor to review and edit standards and guidelines developed by teams of engineers for clarity and formatting.  Responsibilities include facilitating the development process, maintaining relevant documents, processing meeting notes, and responding to issues. Two to 5 years’ experience in editing is preferred.  Ability to follow a work flow process, meet firm deadlines, and keep up with multiple projects is essential.   Ability to improve the sentence structure and wording of draft documents written by engineers is a plus.  Effective communication and writing skills, good judgment and tact are essential. Strong skills with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, required. Some travel may be required.  The official title for this position is “Standards Facilitator”.

Assistant Manager of Standards-Codes

Are you looking to get involved in the development of building codes and standards for HVAC&R?  Do you enjoy working with volunteers?  Are you outgoing and diplomatic? ASHRAE seeks an Assistant Manager of Standards-Codes with a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or similar technical degree with at least 5 years experience.  Experience in the development or application of consensus standards or codes and editing technical documents is a plus.  Individuals with experience or knowledge in the development of consensus based standards and codes are desired.  Effective communication skills, good judgment and diplomacy are essential as this position interacts with outside committees and organizations.  This position requires domestic travel approximately three to four times per year.
