Dakers Gowans, P.E.
Dakers Gowans’ fifteen years experience in the energy efficiency industry has focused on the planning, design, administration, and evaluation of rate-payer funded energy efficiency and demand response programs. Working with investor-owned utilities, public power authorities, public agencies and private corporations he develops energy and demand savings targets, and directs measurement and verification (M&V) and impact evaluation research to measure achieved savings. Mr. Gowans has directed staff investigating energy efficiency potential, managing demand side management programs, developing measurement and verification (M&V) protocols, conducting impact evaluation reviews. Mr. Gowans serves as a technical expert to the DOE and UNFCCC developing protocols and methodologies to measure energy savings and green house gas emissions reductions due to energy efficiency projects. Mr. Gowans is an Instructor at the City University of New York School of Professional Studies teaching building systems and principles of energy management to building operating engineers.
Mr. Gowans is an active member of ASHRAE TC 7.6. Mr. Gowans is the President of Left Fork Energy, Inc, providing energy engineering consulting services to investor-owned utilities, public agencies, and private corporations. Prior employers include Nexant, Inc; Schiller Associates; and Xenergy (now KEMA).
