Jim Kelsey, P.E., BEAP, LEED® AP

Jim Kelsey, P.E., LEED-AP, is the founder and president of kW Engineering, which specializes in improving energy efficiency in commercial and industrial facilities. An active ASHRAE member, Kelsey chairs the committee for Standard 211 Procedures for Commercial Building Energy Audits and is a committee member of Standard 100 Energy Efficiency in Existing Buildings. He is also a member of Technical Committee 7.6 Building Energy Performance, where he led the TC’s revision of the ASHRAE publication Procedures for Commercial Building Energy Audits. Kelsey serves on the Board of the California Energy Efficiency Industry Council where he works with industry, utilities and state regulators to develop energy efficiency policies that meet environmental and business goals. He teaches energy auditing at PG&E’s Pacific Energy Center, and currently he is using technology to make energy audits more cost effective and valuable to customers. Kelsey has a B.S. in physics and a M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin’s Solar Energy Lab. .
