Robert Baker is Managing Director of BBJ Consulting Services in Riverview, Florida. His primary responsibilities are review and advisory for building operations and maintenance, expert advisory for services mold remediation, as well as advisory for indoor air quality and HVAC.
He earned his B.A. from Oklahoma State University, and later his EMBA from Gulf Management Institute.
Some of his professional areas of interest include building operations dynamics, large building systems and applications, physiology of indoor environment, indoor air quality, and air cleaning and odor control.
Mr. Baker has authored, or co-authored, over three dozen publications, as well as several books and book chapters. He has six patents and has received multiple honors and certifications from ASHRAE and other organizations.
His research interests are in the areas of Operation and Maintenance of buildings and Building Systems. Additional areas include the impact of heat exchanger fouling on the performance of HVAC systems, conditions that impact moisture (and resulting mold growth) in buildings and how to correct them.
Baker is an ASHRAE Fellow and has served on numerous councils and committees. Including Technology Council, Special Projects Subcommittee, Standards Committee, and Technical Committees 7.3, 2.3, 2.4, and 9.08.
In addition to his work with ASHRAE, Bob also lends his time and expertise to other organizations. He is a past President and Board Member of the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA). He has also worked with Restoration Industry Association (RIA), National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA), Institute for Inspection, Cleaning & Restoration Certification (IICRC), Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA), and Western HVAC Performance Alliance (WHPA).
