    Recertification helps ensure OPMPs maintain a level of continuing competence through acceptable professional development in subject matter related to their certification.

    Notes:

    Reminder: as the OPMP program is being sunsetted, all OPMP certifications will expire Dec. 31, 2027.  ASHRAE will continue to market the value of the OPMP certification on ashrae.org, through Dec. 31, 2027.
     NEW! All OPMPs may recertify through Dec. 31, 2027.  Please find the following related renewal scenarios:

    • An OPMP with a certification expiration date of Dec. 31, 2024, may recertify one additional time for three (3) years of eligibility through Dec. 31, 2027, paying the full application fee. 
    • An OPMP with a certification expiration date of Dec. 31, 2025, may recertify one additional time for two (2) years of eligibility through Dec. 31, 2027, paying 67% of the full application fee. Note: use Discount Code OPMP2025 when applying.
    • An OPMP with a certification expiration date of Dec. 31, 2026, may recertify one additional time for one (1) year of eligibility through Dec. 31, 2027, paying 50% of the full application fee. Note: use Discount Code OPMP2026 when applying.

        In all cases, forty-five (45) professional development hours (PDHs) will be needed.

    Note: Acceptable evidence of professional development hours (PDHs) earned is supporting documentation issued by a third-party, which includes the name of the certificant and the date earned. In the case of continuing education, supporting documentation also must include the number of clock hours of participation, and a title indicating the subject matter.
