HVAC Design Essentials Training Scheduled To Start Global Training Center’s 2018 Schedule

HVAC Design Essentials Training Scheduled To Start Global Training Center’s 2018 Schedule

From eSociety, December 2017

New year. New skills.

An HVAC Design Essentials training is scheduled to kick off the 2018 training schedule for ASHRAE’s Global Training Center for Building Excellence in Dubai.

Running from Jan. 14–16, the course is geared to improve participants’ skills in the fundamentals and technical aspects of designing and maintaining HVAC systems in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Walid Chakroun, Ph.D., Fellow ASHRAE, is scheduled to lead the class that will provide participants with real-world examples of HVAC systems based on the renovated ASHRAE Headquarters building in Atlanta and buildings in the MENA region.

“There is a clear need for easily accessible and effective training for our industry professionals in the MENA region, and through the Global Training Center, ASHRAE is committed to providing those resources,” said Chakroun, a professor at Kuwait University. “By offering this training, we are giving an opportunity to architects, engineers, technicians and suppliers to expand their breadth of knowledge and gain necessary practical experience in the industry. Thanks to ASHRAE’s world-class education, our members in the Middle East will be better equipped to serve the needs of their local communities.”

The course is targeted to help engineers who are new to the HVAC industry, facility managers, technicians, architects who want to understand HVAC system design, sales engineers and HVAC equipment suppliers.

ASHRAE’s Global Training Center also offers the Building Excellence Credential MENA. Those who earn the Credential are trained in the correct application of ASHRAE Standards and new technologies through real-world experience and performance. The ASHRAE training is customized, scalable and accounts for climate, culture, suppliers, energy sources, prices, codes and construction practices for the MENA region.

This Credential can only be earned by completing the training curricula and examination at the ASHRAE Global Training Center Dubai. It is not an ASHRAE certification.

“The Building Excellence Credential MENA fills a significant gap in building performance,” says Chakroun. “It aids design firms, equipment suppliers, contractors, and facility owners in identifying engineers trained in the correct application of ASHRAE standards and modern technologies based on real-world experience and real-world performance.”
