General Information
The Standards Committee is a standing committee of the Society. It is responsible for all code language documents, the standards written in mandatory, enforceable language, and other standards, guidelines, and addenda in the fields of heating, refrigerating, air conditioning, and ventilating engineering, including all revisions, reaffirmations or withdrawals thereof, to be considered for approval. It cooperates with and supervises the Society’s participation in other organizations in the development, preparation, and adoption of codes, standards, and guidelines.
There are four standing subcommittees of the Standards Committee:
- Planning, Policy and Interpretations Subcommittee (PPIS)
- Standards Project Liaison Subcommittee (SPLS)
- Code Interaction Subcommittee (CIS)
- Standards Reaffirmation Subcommittee (SRS)
