Artificial intelligence (AI) policy: ASHRAE prohibits the entry of content from any ASHRAE publication or related ASHRAE intellectual property (IP) into any AI tool, including but not limited to ChatGPT. Additionally, creating derivative works of ASHRAE IP using AI is also prohibited without express written permission from ASHRAE.

Standard 188 Seminar Organized for MCE 2020

MILAN—The AiCARR-ASHRAE Group has organized a seminar for MCE 2020: MOSTRA CONVEGNO EXPOCOMFORT, the biennial exhibition dedicated to residential and industrial installations, HVAC&R and renewable energy, scheduled for March 17–20 at Fiera Milano. The ASHRAE seminar will take place in the afternoon of March 17.

Patricia Graef, P.E., Fellow/Life Member ASHRAE, will present on ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 188-2015, Legionellosis: Risk Management for Building Water Systems. This session provides an overview of Legionella bacteria, its source, how it is amplified, how it is transmitted and who is susceptible. There will be a detailed look at the standard, the background on its development and what is required for its application and adoption. Ms. Graef will be joined by an Italian expert on control of Legionella who will describe the practices and regulations in place in Italy. Presentations will be followed by debate concerning the most effective measures engineers and building operators can take to combat this major public health issue.
