I graduated with a degree in Mechatronics Engineering, where my program was heavily focused on software and hardware programming. However, after graduating, I realized that coding wasn’t my true passion. The courses I enjoyed most were mechanical-focused, which led me to connect with mechanical companies during my university’s career fair. This connection helped me secure my first position at Trane as an Account Manager. In this role, I was able to combine my technical knowledge with strong people skills, allowing me to succeed in technical sales while gaining an in-depth understanding of project execution and financial management.
At the same time, my mentor suggested I join ASHRAE, and I have been an active member ever since. From day one, I volunteered within the organization, which has been a cornerstone of my leadership development. Participating in leadership programs like Leadership Weekend 1.0 & 2.0, LeaDRS, and Leadership U allowed me to build crucial leadership skills that have been instrumental in my career. These experiences ultimately contributed to my ability to found and manage Voyager Buildings, where I now lead a growing team. ASHRAE has been vital in my professional growth, giving me a competitive edge in the HVAC&R industry.
