I came into engineering looking for a stable job after a very short-lived career as a biologist. My work on the application side of science and the economic recession at the time led me to start working on designing HVAC systems and getting my mechanical engineering degree. After years of doing mechanical design, construction administration, and construction management, I became a licensed mechanical engineer. ASHRAE was with me along my journey of professional development, both with technical and soft skills. From my mechanical engineering foundation, I am able to branch into other disciplines of facility and infrastructure engineering with my career and be promoted to the subject matter expert level.
