While many of my peers were drawn to non-technical sectors, I was captivated by engineering. My journey into the HVAC&R industry began in 1996 as a Technical Assistant. In the early 2000s, I pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Over the years, I've held leadership roles on projects ranging from industrial building HVAC systems to sustainable refrigeration solutions. Navigating regulations, balancing technical demands, and managing stakeholders have been challenges that have fueled my growth.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my career has been my involvement in industry initiatives. I've contributed to committees focused on sustainability, climate change, clean spaces, and standard development, shaping the future of HVAC&R.
My international career has taken me from Brazil to the USA and Denmark. This global experience has enriched my journey and provided a unique perspective on the industry.
Joining ASHRAE was pivotal for my career. The organization’s commitment to advancing HVAC&R technology, promoting best practices, and fostering professional development has been instrumental in my growth. Through ASHRAE, I have networked with industry experts, attended conferences, and participated in technical committees, gaining valuable insights into industry trends and challenges.
Reflecting on my journey, I am grateful for my career path in HVAC&R. It has been challenging and fulfilling, offering countless opportunities for personal growth, learning, and making a difference. I am excited to continue contributing to the industry and exploring new avenues for innovation and advancement.
