eLearning Course Available for Group Learning
The eLearning course, Ethics for the Built Environment Professional Engineer, provides the practitioner an overview of Engineering Ethics, including providing key definitions and explaining the common ethical thought constructs and philosophical analysis tools. Also discussed will be the ASHRAE Code of Ethics, as well as the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) Code of Ethics.
Then, the learner will have the opportunity to review several ethical case studies derived from adjudicated decisions from the NSPE, selected with a focus on the duties and decisions faced by those in the Built Environment industry. Key details of each case study are intentionally be left out of the initial scenario presentation in order to provoke deep thought and “if X…, then Z…, but if W…, then…Y” types of discussion. Finally, the full NSPE details and ruling will be shared for each case study.
