Artificial intelligence (AI) policy: ASHRAE prohibits the entry of content from any ASHRAE publication or related ASHRAE intellectual property (IP) into any AI tool, including but not limited to ChatGPT. Additionally, creating derivative works of ASHRAE IP using AI is also prohibited without express written permission from ASHRAE.

ASHRAE Adds New Region, Chapter

With four new ASHRAE chapters and a new region added since June, ASHRAE now has 187 chapters in its 15 regions.

The new region, Region XIV, encompasses Europe and has eight chapters. Three of the newest chapters are located in Region XIV: Ireland, UK Midlands and UK London and South-East. Region XIV was created during the 2017 ASHRAE Annual Conference in Long Beach, Calif., and stemmed from the Region-At-Large.

The Region-At-Large added a new chapter on Aug. 2. Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, 119 ASHRAE members now belong to the new ASHRAE South Africa Chapter. Region-At-Large, which includes parts of Africa and Southeast Asia, remains the Society's largest region with 22 chapters and more than 4,800 members.
