SPC 514P, Minimizing Risk of Disease and Injury Associated with Building Water Systems
Purpose: The purpose of this standard is to establish practices to minimize the risk of disease and injury from physical, chemical, and microbial hazards associated with water systems in buildings.
Scope: The minimum practices established by this standard apply to the design, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, repair, replacement and expansion of new and existing building water systems (potable and non-potable) and their associated components.
Note: Applications must be received by May 3 for the following interest categories:
Industry: A member covered in the scope of the standard. Examples of this category include: building owners and facility managers (e.g., healthcare institutions, hotels, educational institutions, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, multi-unit residential properties). Industry trade association representatives are included in this membership classification.
Public Agency/Regulatory: A member who is from a public agency:
User/Consumer: A member who purchases, uses, or specifies materials, products, systems, or services covered in the scope of the standard. A member who represents an organization that provides for-profit services applying to the scope of the standard.
