Course Length: 6 hours
This course is a part of the ASHRAE Career Enhancement Curriculum Program:
The 2013 update of Standard 90.1 Energy Standard for Buildings is a major revision, containing more than 100 changes from the 2010 version. Together, Standards 90.1-2010 and 90.1-2013 produce almost 40% energy savings from the 2004 version. By substantially surpassing the Standard 2013 requirements, buildings should achieve well over 40% energy savings.
The U.S. Department of Energy issued a ruling that establishes Standard 90.1-2013 as the commercial building reference standard for state building energy codes. This follows preliminary analysis that the 2013 version of the standard contains 8.5% source energy savings and 7.6% site energy savings as compared to the 2010 standard.
This 6-hour seminar is highly interactive and includes several in-class exercises with problems that participants can solve individually or in teams. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their laptops. This seminar is targeted at design professionals, code officials and building owners. It is not intended for participants wanting in-depth modeling tips.
(This seminar is also available as two 3-hour short courses: Complying with Standard 90.1-2013: HVAC/Mechanical; and Complying with Standard 90.1-2013: Building Envelope/Lighting.)
This ALI course/seminar may be a suitable resource to help prepare for a Certification exam or earn PDHs for recertification.
