Presented in Arabic, this 1-hour technical webinar provides a simplified understanding of thermal comfort principles and their application in building design and operation, with a focus on compliance with ASHRAE Standard 55: Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy. Participants will explore the key factors influencing thermal comfort, including temperature, humidity, air movement, clothing insulation, and metabolic rate.

Presenter
Osama Khayata, Member ASHRAE, CHD
Osama is the MEP Director at Swank Development Real-Estate Developers in Dubai, UAE. A mechanical engineer by profession, he graduated from Aleppo University, Syria, in 2002.
With over 20 years of experience in HVAC design and installation across Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Syria, and Vietnam, Osama is a recognized expert in his field. He is a LEED Green Associate and a Certified Sa’fat Engineer, specializing in Dubai's green rating system. Since 2019, he has also been an ASHRAE Certified HVAC Designer (CHD).
Osama has been an accredited lecturer with the Society of Engineers in Dubai since 2017. He is an active member of the ASHRAE Falcon Chapter and ASHRAE Region-at-Large, where he currently serves as the Regional Vice-Chair for the Technology Transfer Committee. Additionally, he leads the ASHRAE standards translation team, which is responsible for translating key ASHRAE standards into Arabic.
Passionate about knowledge sharing, Osama has published over 15 free books and booklets in Arabic, focusing on various aspects of the HVAC field.
