Andrew Byrnes, P.Eng. is a mechanical engineer and district energy lead at Pinchin Ltd. based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. His expertise is in working with municipalities across Canada to plan, assess and design ambient temperature district energy systems. Ambient district energy systems use heat pumps, geoexchange, and waste heat recovery to delivery heating and cooling to buildings. Mr. Byrnes’ experience includes the development of community heat pump district energy systems for several Canadian cities and private land developers which include the City of Edmonton, City of Surrey, City of Halifax, Resort Municipality of Whistler and the Westhills Land Corporation.
