Artificial intelligence (AI) policy: ASHRAE prohibits the entry of content from any ASHRAE publication or related ASHRAE intellectual property (IP) into any AI tool, including but not limited to ChatGPT. Additionally, creating derivative works of ASHRAE IP using AI is also prohibited without express written permission from ASHRAE.
John D. Manning, P.E., Member ASHRAE is the owner and manager of two small businesses; Phoenix Energy Supply and Earth Sensitive Solutions, LLC. Mr. Manning is a founding member and former board member of the New York Geothermal Energy Organization, a non-profit trade organization that is solely focused on advancing the market penetration of the geothermal heat pump technology, the only sustainable and practical means to displace fossil fuels to meet our heating needs. Mr. Manning has made many contributions to the industry since being awarded a National Science Foundation Grant as an undergraduate at Syracuse University to study Solar-Assisted Heat Pumps in 1975 and continues to progress. His career has been centered around the heat pump technology and applying both engineering and business skills to contribute to thousands of successful geothermal installations.
