Artificial intelligence (AI) policy: ASHRAE prohibits the entry of content from any ASHRAE publication or related ASHRAE intellectual property (IP) into any AI tool, including but not limited to ChatGPT. Additionally, creating derivative works of ASHRAE IP using AI is also prohibited without express written permission from ASHRAE.
Omar Abdelaziz, Ph.D., Member ASHRAE, is an Assistant Professor of Thermofluids at the American University in Cairo with more than 15 years of R&D and project management experience in the energy efficient building technologies, sustainable energy production and utilization, alternative cooling and heating technologies, and alternative refrigerants. Dr. Abdelaziz is a member of the Ozone Secretariat’s Technology and Economic Assessment Panel (TEAP) and the co-chair of the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps Technical Options Committee (RTOC). He is an active member of ASHRAE and currently serves on its Research Activity Committee. He received several awards including the ASHRAE 2018 Best Technical Paper Award, the Technical Leadership Award at the Montreal Protocol 30th anniversary, the 12th IEA Heat Pump Conference Ritter Von Rittinger Award, the 2016 ASHRAE Distinguished Service Award, and the 2005 AIAA Best Paper Award in Terrestrial Energy. Dr. Abdelaziz published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and holds several patents.
