As of 2019, Conference Papers are published in ASHRAE Transactions along with Technical Papers and (for ASHRAE Annual Conferences only) Extended Abstracts. Conference Papers presented from 2010 to 2012 are published in ASHRAE Transactions, from 2013 to 2014 on the ASHRAE Papers CD, from 2015 to 2017 as a download collection, and from 2017 to 2018 as a subscription in the Technology Portal on the ASHRAE website. ASHRAE Conference Papers encompass the wide range of technologies and applications of interest to researchers and practitioners whose work shapes the built environment.
Conference Papers are shorter in length than Technical Papers, undergo a less stringent review, and can be prepared closer to the conferences. Unlike Technical Papers, abstracts of Conference Papers are submitted first for review. Upon acceptance, papers are due three months after abstract acceptance and undergo a single-blind review. The abstracts are also reviewed for a possible topical issue of ASHRAE's journal of archival research, Science and Technology for the Built Environment.
Accepted Conference Papers for the ASHRAE Winter and Annual Conferences are made available as preprints at the start of the conference and published as final papers in ASHRAE Transactions. Both preprints and final versions are also available as a collection via subscription to the ASHRAE Technology Portal.
